JOB DESCRIPTION

Fratelli Cosulich Singapore is seeking a dedicated and professional Assistant Marine Superintendent to join our dynamic team operating in the bunker trading and Ship Owning industry. The primary role is to ensure safe operations of the vessels and compliance to all international marine requirements.
He/She assists in the implementation and upkeep of the Safety Management System and will be required to conduct regular ship inspections to ensure compliance to the statutory requirements of the International Safety Management (ISM) code and International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) code. He/She is also alert to analyse risks and ensures compliance to the organisation's risk management framework.
The Marine Superintendent/Senior Marine Superintendent is also responsible for conducting pre-vetting inspection on board the ship and follow-up.
He/She provides guidance to the Master on board for nautical matters and also conducts incident investigation on board the vessel.
He/She promotes and develops a culture of continuous improvement in pursuit of organisational objectives.
The Marine Superintendent/Senior Marine Superintendent is expected to possess a sound understanding, knowledge and experience of ISM, ISPS, SOLAS, MARPOL, Maritime Labour Convention Marine Operations requirements.
Having ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & OSHAS 18001knowledge is advantage.
To perform as ADPA/ACSO of the assigned Vessels as required.

ACTIVITIES

  • Assist to implement and improve the Integrated Management System.
  • Plan and execute internal audits in the office and onboard vessels.
  • Assess and process reports to identify sources of non-conformances.
  • Monitor effectiveness of verification and inspection activities in the Health, Safety, Security, Environment & Quality.
  • Vetting co-ordination with oil majors, commercial operators, owners etc.
  • Manage compliance to risk management, Monthly Safety meetings, Near miss reports and Master reviews.
  • Manage Planned Maintenance System (PMS), repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Monitor operation performance and submit Bi-yearly follow-up review reports.
  • Brief crew on organisational policies, documentation, and procedures.
  • In-office and onboard contingency management, including training and drills.
  • Conduct appraisals of Officers and Engineers.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Seagoing experience as 3-5 years
  • CoC class 2-3, or at least 2 years of experience of shore experience as Marine/Assistant Marine Superintendent for product or chemical tanker.
  • ISM, ISPS Internal auditor training
  • Root-cause analysis and investigation
  • Risk Assessment and Risk Management
  • Crisis Management and Media handling
  • Familiar with international and maritime regulations and requirements.
  • Strong sense of integrity and professionalism.
  • Excellent teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Good Knowledge of ISM, PMS, Repairs and Dry-Docking repairs
  • Demonstrates teamwork, interpersonal and communications skills
  • Experience Dry docking, New Ship building and delivery will be advantage.
